Wrinkles on the forehead are caused by sun damage, repeated facial expressions and the general aging process. We all engage our foreheads often, whether one is furrowing the brow in worry or lifting the eyebrows in surprise. Everyone will get some forehead wrinkles eventually as skin loses its elasticity over the years. There are, however, things you can do to slow down the process and prevent forehead wrinkles.

Step 1
Drink at least 64 ounces of water daily. In order to be healthy and fresh, your skin must be hydrated. This starts from inside your body. Your skin will be supple and younger-looking when you drink more water.
Step 2
Consume fresh foods that are rich in Vitamins A, C, E and K. These vitamins are essential to healthy, young-looking skin. Citrus fruits are rich in Vitamin C. Spinach and dairy products are good sources of Vitamin A. You can find lots of Vitamin E in leafy vegetables and nuts, and spinach is a solid source of Vitamin K.
Step 3
Use hydroxy acids on your forehead. Derived from sugar cane and milk, hydroxy acids have been shown to encourage collagen production in the skin. This means that the skin is plumped up, thereby reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Hydroxy acids come in a variety of different forms, including alpha, beta and poly hydroxy acids. They can be found in lotions, serums, cleansers and creams, both over-the-counter and via prescription.
Step 4
See your dermatologist regarding prescription-strength topical medications that prevent forehead wrinkles. Retin-A based creams are popular, as they encourage cellular regeneration. As a result, new skin cells are produced more rapidly to replace older, damaged skin cells. Use a prescription-strength cream sparingly at first, in order to gauge your skin's reaction to it.
Step 5
Wear sunscreen on your forehead every day. The sun is a major cause of wrinkles and aging. Protect your skin and prevent wrinkles by wearing a high SPF sunscreen, regardless of the weather. Choose one that protects against both UVA and UVB rays. If you'll be outside for long periods of time, wear a hat for more complete sun protection.
Step 6
Apply a good anti-wrinkle cream to your forehead each night. Choose a cream that is appropriate for your skin type. As we age, skin tends to be dryer so you can likely handle a richer cream in your 50s than you can in your 30s.
Step 7
Stay away from cigarette smoke. Smoking inhibits collagen production, making you more likely to wrinkle much earlier in life. Simply being around second-hand smoke has been shown to have similar effects on the skin.
Step 8
Get adequate rest every night. Without proper rest, your skin is prone to dryness, erratic oil production and fine lines. Aim for at least seven hours of a sleep each night in order to keep skin young-looking and healthy.
