Lumene Vitamin C+ Illuminating Anti-Age BB Cream is a multi-function BB Cream that recently launched at CVS. It has an SPF 20 with a formula that promises to brighten, hydrate, even out skin tone, and improves elasticity for a more youthful appearance.
Suitable for all skin types it comes in a light and medium shade selection.
I was quite excited to give this a test run and eagerly purchased both shades to swatch.
Well done Lumene. It’s not quite the consistency of a BB Cream but overall, you’re doing it fairly right. I know I can’t get away from preaching what is and isn’t a good BB Cream, I’m sorry, but having tried so many Korean ones I do find the ones I’ve tried on the US Market a lacking.
Lumene actually created a product that’s as nice as a BB Cream but isn’t quite a BB Cream. Makes little sense I know but if you have experience with Asian BB Creams and tried out the Lumene BB I think you’ll know what I mean.
But…
Fact of the matter is it is a great product overall and well worth purchasing.
I’d say it’s a beefier tinted moisturizer or a BB Cream slash tinted moisturizer hybrid. I think the sun protection is sadly lacking but outside of that I can’t really rant anything else about it.
This has a gel-like consistency that has a creamy texture. It applies on skin smoothly and evenly leaving skin feeling soft and delicately hydrated. The dry has a soft, semi-matte finish that provides sheerer coverage that builds easily. It’s not terribly pigmented but it does ease redness, brightens skin, eases dullness, and will hide, conceal, and perfect very minor imperfections and issues so skin is left looking its very best. It has a weightless finish that wears for a good five to six hours on a cooler day (not sure how well it’ll hold up during a hot day as of yet).
They did a rather great job with this. It pretty much covers all that I want from a good BB Cream. Excellent texture, easy to apply, brightens (very important for me), conceals minor problems while perfecting and creating a solid canvas for makeup application, and wears fairly long. I can’t say it didn’t do any one thing well!
Likey this.
Well worth checking out and Muse Approved.
I located it at CVS. The price seems to vary from location to location but for the most part it seems $14.99-$16.99 is where it sticks. The best part is CVS always has fairly nice sales on Lumene so you can grab it on sale at some point I’m sure.
Try it!
I think you’ll like it.
Do share if you already have!
